Appearance
Dense grey, black, or white fur. Powerful build, long legs, and large paws for running through snow. Amber or yellow eyes. Weighs 20–80 kg.

Pups are born blind in dens. The whole pack helps raise and feed the pups. Pups spend several months playing and learning from pack members.
Behaviour
Highly social pack animals (4–8 members) with a strict hierarchy. Communicate through howling, body posture, and scent marking. A single howl can be heard up to 16 km away.
